Wishlist: Crossloop & Linux Ubuntu - A Perfect Combination

As posted in my other blog, we find Linux Ubuntu as a perfect Operating System for Virtual Assistance Business. Citing the various benefits that we could derive from using Crossloop we only found one thing that hampers full blending of Linux Ubuntu and Crossloop. We could not run Crossloop by itself as a standalone software for Ubuntu and we would need to utilize Automatrix with Wine for that. However, despite of that fact, we are so happy that we in the Virtual Assistance business could offer remote assistance to whoever clients who needs our online support through Crossloop no matter how the means would be.
The possibility of Crossloop running independently over Linux Ubuntu is very much of a wish list now after we found out that Crossloop could only run through Automatrix and Wine in Ubuntu. Without Wine through Automatrix a simple user would have a hard time figuring out how to be able to run Crossloop into his machine.
Ubuntu is by far the best Open Source Operating System that we could get our hands on with no frills in support and upgrades. This is the reason that we are opting in to use it as our primary operating system noting also the fact that Asterisk, the Open Source IP telephony system could run in Ubuntu.
We are wishing that in the coming days, months or years, Crossloop would soon be able to run over Linux Ubuntu the way it runs over Windows. We understand that it would be a big task to undertake but just like anyone wishing a Christmas gift from Upstairs, we wish that Crossloop could run independently in Linux Ubuntu. Too much to ask probably, but dreams are free and we are amongst the ones who would wish to the NorthStar in Christmas Eve that this wish come true.
As for now, we are happy that we could run Crossloop over Linux Ubuntu and that’s it. It might be on a one side set-up since users running Linux Ubuntu in their machines could only “offer” help & remote assistance and only Windows users are the only ones “who could be helped.” Linux users won’t be able to run Crossloop as host, not yet. But in the long run, we really hope that it would. ![]()
