The long wait is over for those consumers who love Apple iPhone’s technology. Apple finally took the wraps off its 3G iPhone. Thinner edges, full plastic back, flush headphone jack, and the iPhone 2.0 firmware. Apple’s taking a lot of the criticisms to heart ever since they launch the earlier iPhone. 3G is at the forefront, but they’re also making sure it’s available all over internationally, works with enterprises, runs Third party applications and does it all cheaper. Apple claims its 3G speeds beats the competition, with pageloads 36% faster than the N95 and beats the old EDGE data speed.

BeeHive: The New FaceBook for the Cubicle Warriors

Just like in the movies, Social Networking is COMING SOON to the office near you.

There is much anticipation in the business world regarding IBM’s social networking software, BEEHIVE. Much like FaceBook, users can post pictures, video and one-sentence updates about themselves. Employees can describe their expertise, talk about themselves and learn about their colleagues from the other side of the world. Certainly a great tool that empowers employees to socialize with each other, especially amongst co-workers scattered across the different offices of today’s enterprises.

VoIP Fixed Mobile Convergence Solution for the UK!

This is a breaking news in VoIP for consumers and businesses who would like to save a lot on communications. I posted the entire news article here so that everyone could read it. This is currently available in the UK and I am hoping that Voicenet Solutions would make this fixed mobile convergence solution available everywhere. It is always good to have calls to our fixed business landlines be forwarded to our mobile phones using our business VoIP network. We may no longer have to give out our mobile numbers but instead just our fixed landlines since calls would be forwarded to our mobile. Right now, we understand the infancy of these technologies but we are hoping that soon these would be available everywhere not only in the UK but also to the rest of the world. We pray that Voicenet Solutions hear us on this one. :)

Must have tech tools
Anita Campbell, editor at SmallBizTrends.com recently came out with her 10 Must-Have Tech Tools for 2008. It’s a really good list of tech tools or apps that a business person will find useful. Below I have summarized her top ten and added my take on it. For her full article, click here –> Inc.com Technology News

To summarize, here’s her top ten list and my take on them:

Achieve Organizational Efficiency for 2008

Achieve Organizational Efficiency for 2008A new national survey conducted by Office Depot says that achieving work-life balance tops the list of business priorities for 2008. It says that a majority of professionals surveyed (53 percent) identified improving their work-life balance as the leading business goal for 2008 and 39 percent believe getting organized will be the key to their success. You can find the full story from this link, Fox Business Story on Organizational Efficiency.

“This survey reinforces the downside to disorder - an inherent loss of productivity,” says Office Depot’s organizing expert Monica Ricci. “By implementing a few clear-cut systems and utilizing available organizational tools, professionals can manage the task of getting organized and increase their productivity. They are likely to improve their work-life balance and rediscover a passion for what they do.”
